This is one of my favorites. Grilled chicken, red onions and lots of gorgonzola crumbles, drizzled with Franks Red Hot sauce. Think of it as having Buffalo Wings on a pizza…

Our slice pies are 24″ in diameter, although we try to make them a little larger than that. They usually hang off the pizza tray. Foot-long slices, starting at only $2.75.

We offer Cheese, Pepperoni, or a random Slice o’ the Day. One slice is all you need to be satisfied.

This is a Popeye Stromboli. Fresh baby spinach, ricotta cheese, sun-dried tomatoes and grilled chicken with mozzarella and provolone cheeses, served with our marinara sauce to dip it in. Only the burliest of guys can finish an entire stromboli. I recommend sharing one and splitting a salad as well.

Except that our salads are humongous as well. Maybe you should split a half a salad instead.
(sigh) So many decisions…..
Just trying to help…

See that envelope up above the whiteboard? Let’s take a closer look, shall we?

BOH stands for Back Of the House. Inside that envelope is a $10 bill, along with a note that lists a secret spot that needed to be cleaned. If the spot is cleaned, that employee gets to open the sealed envelope and pocket ten bucks!
We do a FOH and a BOH spot, and even if the secret spot is found every day, we still hang another envelope with another ten bucks in it. That’s upwards of $600 a month that can be claimed.

The results have been amazing! Instead of standing around, reading a magazine during slow periods, these guys are pulling out equipment to wipe down the walls, scrubbing the floors, organizing the dry goods, getting on ladders to clean fan blades or vents.

The place is spotless. At the end of the night, I do a walk-through to check and see that everything is done.
It is, and then some.

Money is certainly motivating.

We thought that the restaurant would be slow for Halloween, especially since there was no high school in session and that we’re outside of downtown where all of the festivities are.
We were wrong.
Lunch was ridiculously busy. We ended up having to chop lettuce to order for salads, and barely had time to prep for dinner.
Dinner was just as slammed. It was unbelievable. It all went smoothly, though. I only know of one complaint, from a lady at lunch who said that her soup wasn’t hot, it was warm. She only complained about it after finishing her entire meal, which is frustrating.
Our ovens guy showed up to work dressed as Whitey, which was pretty funny. St.Louis ball cap, white apron, bar towel hanging from his back pocket, Crocs, golf shorts, and a pillow duct-taped to his belly. And just in case you couldn’t figure it out, a name tag.

Pretty funny stuff.
Our front gal was a pirate, and the other kitchen guy showed up as a Rocker Dude in pants so tight I was surprised that he was still able to breathe. Size 3 women’s jeans. Yeah. Tight.
It was a long, long day.

Whitey was exhausted, so I sent him home at about nine o’clock. We finished up around 10:30 or so, and a few of us went to a local bar to sing karaoke and watch the local idiots.
We had a pretty good time.
Tonight we’re catering a sweet 16 birthday party for 150 guests. We’ll be busy.

Want to see something pretty cool?
Guess what this is?

We’re having a custom pizza peel made, and the woodworker is blogging on it.
